A Fill-rate Service level model for Integrated Network design and Inventory Allocation Problem

چکیده
Today’s global economy relies heavily on transportation and warehousing to deliver goods. Outsourcing has made the distribution networks complex with several layers of national (import) distribution centers (NDCs) and regional distribution centers (RDCs) between suppliers and retailers. More distribution nodes in the supply chain also means more inventory stockpiles. We present an integrated facility location and inventory allocation problem for designing a distribution network with multiple NDCs and retailers. The key decisions are where to locate the regional distribution centers and how much inventory to hold at the different nodes of the distribution network such that the total network cost is minimized. A Type-II (fill-rate) service level measure is used in this analysis for modeling the safety stock inventory and the inventory cost analysis is based on the continuous review batch ordering policy. Our analysis shows that the type of service measure used affects the network design.

Benefits of Considering Inventory in Logistics Network Design Problems with Time-based Service Constraints
We study the integrated logistics network design and inventory stocking problem as characterized by the interdependency of the design and stocking decisions in service parts logistics. These two sets of decisions have been usually considered sequentially in practice, and the associated problems have been tackled separately in the research literature. The overall problem is typically further com...
متن کاملA Congested Double Path Approach for a Hub Location-allocation Problem with Service Level at Hubs
In this paper an uncapacitated multiple allocation p-hub median problem is discussed. The model minimizes the transportation cost based on inventory service level at hubs through double paths between hubs. Inventory service level is defined as the percent of inventory shortage of vehicles at hubs according to passengers demand and replenishment time of vehicles. A real data from 25 nodes of mun...
متن کاملOptimizing location, routing and inventory decisions in an integrated supply chain network under uncertainty
This study extends a mathematical model that integrates the location, allocation, inventory replenishment and routing decisions simultaneously. To cope with inherent uncertainty of parameters, we implement a continuous-time Markov process and derive the performance measures of the system. Using the obtained results, the problem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear programing model (MINLP)...

This paper presents a multi-objective and multi-service location-allocation model with capacity planning to design a healthcare facilities network through considering a referral system. Therefore, a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model containing two objective functions is proposed. The first objective function is relates to minimization of total opening cost, minimization of tota...
